Delivering Road 89, Israel

My role as Project Manager for the 17 km Ma'alot section of Road 89, commissioned by Miner's Contractor, presented a formidable challenge: constructing a vital transportation artery within a strict budget of NIS 18 million. The subsequent project, a bridge over a stream at the Nahariya Hospital intersection, added another layer of complexity, with a budget of NIS 12 million.

The key project details

The overarching goal was to construct a two-lane, two-track road, complete with lighting and separation, stretching from the Kabri junction to the north of Nahariya. This ambitious project was divided into two phases: the eastern section, funded by the Ministry of Transportation, and the western, supported by the Ministry of Construction and Housing.

Delivering Road 89: A Three-Year Endeavor

Achieving these objectives within the stipulated timeframe and budget required meticulous planning, efficient resource allocation, and a deep understanding of the local terrain. The project was further complicated by the need to integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure and to minimize disruptions to the public.

By implementing rigorous project management principles, I successfully oversaw the entire construction process. This included developing comprehensive project schedules, managing a skilled team, and maintaining open communication with all stakeholders. Through proactive risk management and cost control measures, I ensured that the project remained on track and within budget.

The successful completion of Road 89 stands as a significant accomplishment in my career, demonstrating my ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
